What topics are taught in the Networks module

Our current students have almost finished the second part of the course – the Networks module. Here is a more detailed summary of what we have learned over the last month:

✔ Functionality of IP networks
✔ The OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol stack
✔ Data transmission levels in the network – physical, channel, network transport and application
✔ Protocols ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, FTP, SFTP, SSH, HTTP, DNS
✔ Utilities: ip, tcpdump, traceroute, nmap, nc, netstat, ss
✔ Addressing and routing in IP environments
✔ File transfer and remote work with the server
✔ Network modeling in Packet Tracer and traffic analyzer – Wireshark
✔ Security in the network (iptables) is our next topic

Why do you need all this? To diagnose and solve different network issues. As troubleshooting is an absolutely useful skill, and our graduates are really good at it .

It was hard for all of us. But believe us that learning Linux and Networks from scratch is possible! Lectures, classrooms, lab work, homework and online support provided by our mentors for free!
