Serhii Bogoliy is a support engineer

While you are thinking which our programme/course to choose, we are sharing the stories of our graduates who have successfully completed their probation periods in PortaOne. Serhii Bogoliy is a support engineer.

Serhii, what turned out to be new and unexpected in your job?

Working with tickets is new for me.  I’d been a sysadmin and  the most challenging for me was setting the tasks and  keeping their track. The tasks were set orally with no tracking. The system of task setting in PortaOne is a new and really effective thing for me. There is one more good thing. It’s discussing the tasks with colleagues including video conferences, communication and support. They sincerely care not only about the task completion but  about you and your personal progress. It was different at my previous jobs.

– What knowledge and skills acquired at the Educational Center do you use most?

Kind of everything. Most importantly, I understand what tool I need to solve issues. While studying I came to realize I couldn’t put my thoughts into words properly. It interferes with your performance. So I am working on it at the moment.

– What would you advise to go through a probation period successfully?

Pay attention to details.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions. It might feel that for this particular case you don’t need it, but later this information will be useful.
