Oleksii Mudrachenko about his impressions of being a support engineer

A new episode from #portaone_education_success_story: a graduate of our Linux&Network Administration Course Oleksii Mudrachenko is talking about his impressions from his support engineer job in PortaOne team.

– How did you imagine your working days?

The way they are. You get a ticket from a customer, learn the issue, look for solution. On my first day  it was scary to start my work. I thought  what if I was given a ticket  at once  and I wouldn’t know what to do. But we started working with customers gradually. When I got my first task, I was ready for it. I was worried, but I  coped.

– What knowledge and skills acquired at Educational Center do you use most?

Everything, and if there is anything, I haven’t used so far it’s just a matter of time.

Before the course I used command line a couple of times, I did everything  through graphic interface. But now it’s a must.  On the whole I gained a lot of knowledge and make most of it on regular basis.

What would you advise to go through probation period successfully?

Try hard and you’ll make it.  If there is something you can’t cope, take it easy. Find a way to  correct your mistakes and keep going.
