The answer is obvious. Of course, they do!
English language is required for:
✅ understanding terminology, working with English interfaces and the command line. Such small issue like ‘no space left on device’ takes much more time to solve for students who do not know English language at all;
✅ reading technical documentation, studying professional literature and searching for information. It is mostly English-language resources;
✅ communicating with colleagues and clients, since a large number of IT companies have offices in other countries, and English is the official language of communication even among co-workers;
✅ for participation in conferences, webinars, meetings, etc.
There are of course IT guys like a front-end developer who successfully works without English. But what are the prospects?
