How long does it take to complete the course?

The #portaone_education_FAQ column is on air again. We answer important questions asked by our potential students.

Please follow the hashtag #portaone_education_FAQ and find the key information about the courses.

How long does it take to complete the course and how many hours per week should one dedicate to training? Let us make it real simple for you.

Our Linux & Networks course takes approximately 4-5 months to complete if you do 10-15 hours of work per week.

  1. Interactive class-room sessions are held 2 times per week with the duration of 2 hours (2 x 2 = 4 hours).
  2. To participate in this session a student is expected to be prepared in advance. Check the details in one of our previous posts here. What does it mean to be prepared? You just need to watch a video on the topic, that will take you no more than an hour. So that makes 6 hours.
  3. A homework assignment is an inseparable part of your study. The time you need to spend on it depends on your basic knowledge and some other factors, but it is approximately 4 hours per topic.

So, you should allocate at least 10-15 hours a week to complete a course.

We asked our current students if this is really so. Here are their answers.

This is the time spent on self-study without taking classroom time into account.

Homework can be done at any time, even at night or on weekends. And video lectures can be listened to (or watched in rapid mode), standing, for example, in a queue, or in public transport, or even walking the dog. The important thing is your will to learn. And our every #portaone_education_success_story is proof of that!
